Dental Biomaterials

The research interests in the field of dental biomaterials science mainly focus on development, application of artificial materials and digital manufacturing technologies. Dental biomaterials are commonly used for producing tooth-, implant- or mucosa-borne prosthesis. Materials are initially tested employing standard test methods followed by their exposure to simulated clinical conditions. Laboratory-testing conditions are being optimized with improved translational significance in an attempt to diminish clinical failures and establish clinical protocols. Our research efforts especially in minimally invasive adhesive dental applications concentrate on improving hydrolytic degradation of adhesive interfaces.
