  • Multispecies oral biofilm models (physiology and 3D structure of biofilms under changing conditions)
  • Composition and characteristics of the extracellular matrix in oral biofilms
  • Inter- und intra-species interaction within oral biofilms in health and disease
  • Interaction between oral biofilm and host cells
  • Antimicrobial treatment of adherent oral microorganisms
  • Identification of oral bacteria using modern techniques (e.g. fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH). confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), real-time PCR, etc.)
