The clinic KFS-KAB comprises established as well as newly introduced disciplines in dental medicine. Its research focuses on basic science as well as on clinical problems. The clinic is worldwide one of the few equipped with a Laboratory for Physiology and Biomechanics of the Masticatory System as well as for the study of Orofacial Pain. Our research projects in the areas of pain perception, mandibular function and dysfunction as well as cartilage breakdown are based on innovative and original in-house developments that have been rewarded with prestigious international funding. These projects will lead to significant clinical applications of preventive as well as therapeutic nature. Furthermore, clinical studies on dental rehabilitation and oral health of the elderly also benefit of the research expertise of the clinic.
